昔日美荷的單位可以有多於一個家庭居住，家裹氣氛熱鬧。希望透過圖中的人物，令大家對當時的美荷生活有具體的印象。
The painting gives an insight of people’s life in resettlement blocks, seeing how two families living within one tiny flat.

參觀美荷樓生活館，讓我知道原來以往在美荷樓，一個單位會有多過一個家庭居住，同時超過十人以上的居住情況十分普遍。對比現在一個單位住一戶人家的普遍情況，以前的生活因為同居人數較多而更熱鬧。我希望透過繪圖的形式，以美荷樓單位作背景，呈現居民當時生活的畫面，而不只是看到單位裹的間隔和擺設，令大家對當時的情況有更具體的聯想。
After visiting the Heritage of Mei Ho House (HMHH), I find that it is very common to have more than one family (could be more than ten people) sharing the same crowded flat. Although the living space was much cramped back then, people are having more fun with their “flatmates” and neighbours. Therefore, I would like to recreate the scene by drawing characters like a mum hugging her baby, and a grandma reading the newspaper. I hope people could have a better idea of how life was back in the 1950s.
